System for Handicap Accessability, Recreation and Education August 28, 2007 - Rick's color camera worked very well on the lunar eclipse. We got a pretty good field that just covered the moon, and had a color image of the moon even in the darkest part of totality. We have tape of the entire eclipse in VHS and Mini-DV format. The VHS tape is a continous recording of the event. It took 3 of the Mini-DV tapes for the event so there are some small gaps. August 11, 2007 - The performance of the SHARE System wasn't all that great, and I shut it off after taking way too long to find a dim object, and put in an eyepiece. We still learned a lot about how to make the system work better in the future. August, 2007 - David Olsen took the SHARE system to a star party in the south hills and had great success with bright objects, and his Meade ETX-90 telescope. June, 2007 - The S.H.A.R.E. System made its first public appearance at the June Craters of the Moon Star Party. We were able to show a number of objects including Saturn and the Moon after Chris' presentation. Mar 28, 2007 - The S.H.A.R.E. System finally has a camera that makes it wothwhile to take out to events. We still have a long ways to go in figuring out how to use the system, but we have the equipment we need. If you have a group or event that could use the S.H.A.R.E. System please contact us. Take a look in the gallery for some images I captured at the Bruneau Dunes observatry last night. The S.H.A.R.E. System is not currently scheduled for any events other than using parts of it at Centennial Observatory events. |
